Tour program

Day 1.
Transfer from airport to hotel in Tbilisi.
Excursion around old city.
Visit famous Tbilisi sulfur baths.
Tbilisi sightseeing tour.
Acquaintance with old districts of Tbilisi and modern architectural masterpiece — Peace Bridge and Rike Park.
Walking through the streets and beautiful places of the old city.
Overnight in Tbilisi.

Day 2.
Breakfast.
Departure to Mtskheta, one of the oldest cities of Georgia.
Excursion to Mtskheta, the ancient capital of Georgia. This is a museum city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Visit ancient monastery temple Dzhvari (VI cent.).
Visit to Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (1010-1029).
Wine tasting at Marani Guramishvili Wine Cellar.
Return to Tbilisi and walk around old town.
Overnight in Tbilisi.

Day 3.
Breakfast.
Transfer to Kakheti.
Excursion and wine tasting at KTW winery. Visiting the medieval castle — the fortress of Gremi. As part of it — the Church of the Archangels Michael and Gabriel, the bell tower, the three-story palace and a wine cellar (marani).
Excursion to Telavi — the main city and administrative center of Kakheti.
Wine tasting at Shumi Wine Company. The main advantage of the company is that it controls the whole production cycle: growing, harvesting, processing, cooking, storage, packaging and distribution. To improve the quality of its products, Shumi uses the «green harvesting» method.
The company uses the «green picking» method, a technique that produces the best quality grapes. Master class on baking Georgian bread and churchkhela. Visit Tsinandali — famous village of Kakheti, a famous center of winemaking.
Visit Alexander Chavchavadze house-museum. Tasting of wine.
Visit to the House Museum of King Irakli II (Irakli Palace) — founded in 1927 as an ethnographic museum.
Visit architectural complex «Batonis Tsikhe» is a castle, which is still the only royal palace in Georgia.
Visit to Nekresi monastery.
Overnight in Telavi.

Day 4.
Breakfast.
Excursion around Sighnaghi.
Visit historical-ethnographic museum with exhibits from V millennium BC to XIX century. The museum also displays pictures of famous Georgian painter Niko Pirosmani.
Visit and wine tasting at Khareba winery.
Visit St. George monastery complex and the tomb of St. Nino, who brought Christianity to Georgia, in the village of Bodbe.
Excursion to Kvareli.
Visit and wine tasting at «Kindzmarauli Marani» — a modern winery with modern European equipment and old Georgian secrets of winemaking, on the territory of which are planted more than 400 varieties of grapes grown in Georgia.
Return to Tbilisi.

Day 5.
Breakfast.
Free time. Souvenir shopping.
Transfer to the airport.

The state language in Georgia is Georgian, it is spoken by about 80% of the population, young people usually speak English.

The state currency is lari. Currency can be changed at a bank or at a currency exchange office. There are many and most of them are open 24/7. Do not exchange currency with your hands.

If you enter the territory of Georgia in a car, keep in mind the following: international insurance policies are not valid on the territory of Georgia (green card). Therefore, after passing the border, find the nearest point (office) of any insurance company and buy a Georgian policy. The policy can be bought in advance online. Car insurance in Georgia is mandatory.

Under Georgian law, Abkhazia and South Ossetia are considered occupied territories. Accordingly, by visiting these territories from the Russian side, you are breaking the law. Therefore, if at the border they ask you if you have been to Abkhazia or South Ossetia, feel free to answer “no”.

Everything is good with mobile communications in Georgia. The phone catches everywhere, even in the most remote areas. It is better to purchase a local or tourist SIM card. It will be cheaper than talking in roaming.
